Helping people is truly my life’s work.
One major difference with me is that I am trained and licensed on both sides - as a psychotherapist and an addiction treatment specialist. And because I have both personal and professional experience to share, it makes me incredibly passionate about this work. And it gives me more tools at my disposal to be able to help you through our sessions together.
I come from the big city, and San Francisco is an important part of my personal history and professional education. Now I live and work in a small town.
I am a contractor with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, which is responsible for all clinical licenses at the therapy level for the state of California. One major benefit is that this allows me to stay current on the ethical and legal issues that surround my field.
ABOUT
I take my work with marginalized populations very seriously. I have worked with the forensic population since 2002, and I have been a therapist both within the state prisons and county jails, and provided both group therapy and individual counseling. I have worked within the LGBTQ community for decades. I have provided support and care for women and children who are human trafficking survivors, or those with a history of sexual exploitation or abuse. Trauma and addiction are common issues that I help clients handle in a healthy and positive fashion. Regardless of whether you feel broken, or beyond the capacity to repair, I can confidently say, that I’d love to help you.
I received my Certificate of Completion of Drug and Alcohol Studies from City College of San Francisco in 2007. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from New College of California in 2008. Then in 2010, I earned my Master of Arts degree with a major in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, located in San Francisco.
I am certified in E.M.D.R. I have earned my Marriage and Family Therapist license. I am also a certified Domestic Violence Advocate.I originally worked at SAGE (Standing Against Global Exploitation) from 2002 to 2006 as a Sexual Trauma Counselor and later as a Mental Health Case Manager. I participated in the F.O.P.P “John School” for nearly eight years. From 2011 - 2014 I worked as S.A.G.E.’s adult youth clinician.
